Returning Students
Returning students received their class code assignments on the last day of school in June. If you do not have your child’s class information, please contact our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Walter, at [email protected] or 718-836-4630 on September 8 or 9 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
2026-2027 School Hours
8:10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Early Dismissal School Hours
8:10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Lunch Periods
10:25 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Grades 1, 2, 3 and 6
11:15 a.m. - 12:05 a.m. Grades K, 4 and 7
12:05 a.m. - 12:55 a.m. Grades 5 and 8
Early Drop-Off Program
A paid Early Drop-Off Program is available for K-8 students at the main building. Families interested in enrolling should submit payment by check or money order to the Main Office during the week of August 31 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., or send payment with their child on September 10, 2026.
Please note that all registration forms and September payments must be submitted to the Main Office by September 10, 2026. Beginning in October, all monthly payments must be made directly to the Early Drop-Off teacher.
Arrival Times
Arrival doors open at 8:10 a.m. and close at 8:15 a.m. Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. will be marked late and must obtain a late pass from the security desk in the main lobby.
Kindergarten and Grade 1 students arriving late must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the Annex main lobby to receive a late pass.
All guests and visitors who enter the building for any reason must enter through the main lobby and show photo ID. All visitors must comply with the NYC DOE visitor policy which can be found on the DOE website.
First Day Arrival Information
ANNEX:
Kindergarten
Students should arrive at 8:30 a.m. through the Annex Main Entrance (415 89th Street) with a parent or guardian. Families are welcome to stay briefly to meet their child’s teacher. A welcome event and short orientation will be held in the cafeteria at 9:00 a.m.
Grade 1
Students should arrive at 8:10 a.m. through the Main Entrance and meet their teachers in the cafeteria.
MAIN:
Grades 2-8
Students should arrive at 8:10 a.m. through their designated entrances listed below or referenced on the Arrival Map available on our website. Breakfast will be available as a grab-and-go option upon entry.
Beginning September 11, 2026

Please check the arrival and dismissal maps on our website, www.psis104.com under the "Our School" tab. Please note that, in many cases, the dismissal door is not the same as the morning arrival door. Please be sure that children know their class code on day one! Please check their June letter for this information or contact Ms. Walter.

Upon entry into the school building: Grades 2 and 3 students will meet their teachers in the auditorium. All other students will go directly to their classrooms with staff supervision in the hallways and stairwells.
Dismissal Procedures
Dismissal begins at 2:25 p.m.
Families with children in both buildings are asked to pick up their child at the Annex first and then proceed to the main building. Staff will supervise students in the auditorium until they are picked up.
Please indicate designated pick-up persons on your child's Emergency Contact Sheet. Only individuals who are 18 years of age or older and listed on the form may pick up students.
Teachers in grades K-3 will dismiss directly to a parent or guardian listed on the Emergency Contact Sheet (rain or shine). Emergency Contact Sheets can be found on our school website and should be returned with your child on the first day of school. Please ensure the form is completed and signed. Any student not picked up by 2:25 will be brought to the auditorium.
Walking is only permitted for grades 4-8. Any changes to pick up must be sent in writing to your child’s teacher.
We are excited to begin another wonderful school year with our students and families. We are committed to making this the best year yet for your children!
The schoolyard is closed until students are fully dismissed at 2:30 p.m. No student is allowed to linger or play in the schoolyard until dismissal is complete.
