That's right we're covering May and June. We're your hosts Liam and Elena. We are here to wrap up the year with you, the Wolfpack members. Your school, your news! Let's get started. We kicked off May by celebrating our amazing teachers. That's right today was teacher appreciation month. Throughout the week teachers enjoyed special surprises to recognize everything they do for us. We want to give a huge shout out to all the teachers at PSIs 104. Thank you for your dedication, support and for making learning fun. On May 7th we held a spring Boutique where students were able to purchase special gifts for their family members as well as for themselves. Later that evening we welcome families back for a fun-filled family fun night. Some of the activities included were Sports, games and brain exercises. Students also got the chance to take their parents to their classrooms to show off their end of the unit Ela projects. It was great to see students share their hard work and accomplishments with their family. Speaking of accomplishments, our school proudly held the Junior Honor Society Ceremony. This special event recognized students who demonstrated excellence in academic leadership and character. Students who were inducted worked very hard throughout the year to earn this achievement. We are so proud of all of our Junior Honor Society members! Keep up the amazing work!! On July 4th, our eighth graders celebrated their style at the Eighth Grade Prom. There was music dancing, great outfits and lots of unforgettable moments with friends. Then on June 9th, students impressed everyone at the art show by displaying the creativity and hard work through beautiful paintings, drawings and projects. June 11 brought excitement to the school with the school carnival. Students enjoyed games, prizes, snacks, music and activities all afternoon. On June 23rd, we proudly celebrated our eighth grade graduation. It was a special moment to honor all their achievements and wish them good luck in high school. And on June 24th, our kindergarten students took a big step forward at Kindergarten stepping up. Families and teachers cheered them on as they prepare for first grade. This is Alyssa, your sports reporter, signing off for the year. Thanks for an amazing season PS/IS 104. Now let's send it back to the studio for the feature story. Our talented students brought the stage to life with an amazing performance of Alice Wonderland. From colorful costumes to creative sets, the play took the audience on a wonderful journey to Wonderland. Curious what's happening, Hilton has the Scoop from teachers and cast members. Now we're going to be interviewing Miss Sarah who directed the Alice in Wonderland play. Hi, I'm Leonie and I'm here with Miss Sarah who directed the Alice in Wonderland play. Why did you choose Alice in Wonderland for our school play this year? So I chose Alice in Wonderland for our school play this year because I thought it would be a fun play and it lends itself to having a really big cast so we get a lot of students play different parts. Wonderful. If you could describe this play in just 3 words, what would they be? Definitely fun, colorful and dynamic. There was a lot of movement in this year's play which I liked a lot. Okay nice and what is your absolute favorite scene in the whole show and why it's really hard? Umm, there were a lot of really wonderful scenes but I think my favorite scene was between the caterpillar and small Alice. When the caterpillar was kind of explaining to her to be herself um, I like the interaction between both of the actors and I thought that everybody just did a really great job. Okay. Now I'm interviewing Miss flood who helped with the props and the dance moves. Was there a specific dance move that was really tricky for the students to learn at first and how did you help them master it? Yeah all of the large group numbers were the most difficult because there were so many moving pieces, so many people on stage at once. One group of students doing one thing another group of students doing the other thing so that was hard to get nailed down perfectly but the way to do that is to just practice and that's what we did. Audiences don't see behind the scenes. They don't see all the people and all the work and the hours of practice that goes into bringing something on stage. Even with a really short number of hours, the number of people working on the backdrops, people working on the music and the dance moves, all the memorization that the students have to do. There's so many people and so many hours of work that goes into even the shortest little snippet that you see on stage so there's so much going on to put the show on the stage and we really appreciate everyone who's involved for all their hard work. Okay, now we are here with Eileen and Michaela they actually shared the role of Alice. Eileen played big Alice and Michaela played small Alice. What was the most fun part about playing Alice. I think what was the most fun part about playing Alice was when she was Giant and Powerful well there are so many things I loved about playing Alice but my favorite thing about playing tall Alice is probably near the finale when she realizes who she is regains her confidence and stands up to the people who treated her barely more generally I was really moved by Alice as a character because even when others made fun of her or doubted her she continued to believe in herself for difficult times nice okay Michaela what was your favorite scene to do as small Alice and why my favorite scene was probably the caterpillar scene um Adventure is a wonderful thing um I think that scene because I really liked um how we worked on it and all the props that were used and I liked how everybody like kind of made up their own thing and I like seeing how it like went from nothing but then like at the end it was actually really nice I personally think that it was mirroring each other's personalities and making sure that we delivered the lines exactly the same okay nice I literally have to chase down our next guest now I'm here with Jessie who plays the princess White Rabbit in the Alison Jesse thanks for stopping I know you always are amazing which team did you find the most challenging or the most fun the scene I found most challenging was probably the 1 where I had to do the trumpet because I kept that having to run back and forth checking for the trumpet but I always checked beforehand and 1 day I'm just like wait it's not there so I have to do this entire like Manhunt search for it until I finally found it and the scene I found most fun was probably when I had to say I'm late for the first time nice how how do you feel about practicing your scenes I felt kind of nervous because I knew the show was coming up soon and I didn't really feel prepared also felt happy to spend time with friends and theater nice kiss now moving to Aaliyah for on the spot before we drop a like on the school year we are playing a little game I like to call beach ball Blitz the rules are simple toss a beach ball to someone whoever the right thumb lands they have to read that question out loud and give us a raw unfiltered answer no script no rehearsal just pure fun energy the clock is ticking let's find our first contestant describe your summer mood and exactly 3 words fun exciting and joyful grab your summer mood um so if my summer was a movie title it would be is Beach day during the summer sleeping in late or staying up late I'd rather stay up late outside with friends than sleeping in late because sleepy goodly it's kind of like personally it's a waste of the day probably Nico at an Emma describe your summer mood in exactly 3 words adventurous unique and exciting during the summer sleeping in late or staying up late I want to sleep in late which teacher or student may you laugh the most Miss Racicot made me laugh the most she's just really funny and I really like having her as a art teacher during the summer sleeping in late or staying up late um I would probably stay up late because I rather watch TV all night if you could change what next year what would it be um that at the end of the day we get to do something fun and that wraps up the final news of the school year these past few months at PSI 104 have been super action-packed and have full of activity but even more importantly they help make the school year want to remember from incredible events to show stopping performances to fund celebrations and big achievements this year was full of energy excitement and Wolfpack Pride we are Beyond proud of everything our students and staff have accomplished this year and we can't wait to see all the incredible things that the future holds stay curious stay kind and stay awesome
